My Students – Golden Born

by | Jan 17, 2025 | Poetry

A calling echoes—can’t you hear it?
From a kid’s age, I taught despite limitations.
Decades zoomed in, molding me through trials and tribulations into greatness.

Easy to point fingers like a ruler to the board?
But true teachers know the struggle is real.

Our duty is a solemn vow.
Dependent strength we embody.
We are a necessity!

Their greatness is our pedal, driving us forward.
We go to the fields to cultivate minds with every seed we plant.
Our schools are heavens; their brains, our world.

The joy it brings to witness peaks of light
Shine from within our learners’ souls, illuminating their paths.

The struggle is real.
Withdrawal is unknown; we persevere through every challenge.

Grooming lives like a flour mill’s process, refining and nurturing.
Excitements, difficulties, sorrow, and joys test our mantra.

Appreciate us. Respect us. Bear with us. Assess us, but don’t trash us.
We’re doing our best.

Students’ success sips so sweet.
The pride and fulfillment we feel are overwhelming.

Yet myriads of ills strike our bones.
Yet still we glide.

Moments of silence and cries begging for support,
We understand what awaits their faces.
It’s a partnership. The battle is all ours.
The fruits we will have borne.

Our children need us. Let’s fight all demons that tackle their fate.
Success is now, and every step of the journey.
